This blog features responses to the exhibition, WARHOL: FABRICATED, by students in Professor Jessica Dallow's Aspects of Contemporary Art: Pop and Its Legacies, an art history course offered by the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. The exhibition, presented by the University of Alabama at Birmingham's Abroms-Engel Institute for the Visual Arts, combines nine Warhol screen prints and ninety photographic prints owned
by UAB, along with loaned pieces from the Andy Warhol Museum, the Booth Western
Art Museum, the Birmingham Museum of Art, beta pictoris gallery, and
private collectors, as well as artworks from New
York-based contemporary artist Charles Lutz. It includes Warhol's iconic Marilyn, Mao wallpaper, "Silver Clouds", screen tests of Edie Sedgwick and Lou Reed, and later prints such as Joseph Beuys in Memoriam and selections from the Cowboys and Indians portfolio.
